The founding members of Whatcom Folk School would like to thank Karen Lanphear of Transition Sandpoint and Sandpoint Transition Folk School for her initial and ongoing support.  Karen and her work have given us a strong foundation on which to stand and a place from which to become very creative as we develop our own way forward in re-skilling opportunities for Whatcom County.   She generously encouraged us to adopt and change as needed much of the work she had worked very hard on creating and implementing.

We plan on continuing our relationship with Sandpoint Transition Folk School by collaborating on some of the regional opportunities for learning some of the old ways and being innovative about how we might respond to this changing world from a regional perspective.

Thank you, Karen!  We hope to see you at Whatcom Folk School’s Grand Opening for Fall Quarter!
